Jack was an innovator in the planetarium. Probably due to his background in theater, he realized we could no long rely solely on the projected star field that had been the centerpiece of the planetarium for so long. What caught people’s attention was changing. So Jack was one of the first to add a little excitement to the show. Many planetarium directors felt this extra pizzazz was unnecessary. Read more…

Brown Planetarium received notification of its 501(c)(3) status as a tax-exempt nonprofit organization. This means you can donate directly to Friends of the Planetarium and receive a tax deduction. Donations can be made online via PayPal (see yellow “Donate” button on right sidebar) or by check. Please make checks payable to “Friends of the Planetarium.” Please mail checks to P.O. Box 7029, Arlington, VA 22207.

A huge thank you to the Arlington Community Foundation for accepting tax deductible donations on our behalf for the first few months of our fund-raising campaign to save the planetarium.
