Next Sunday Science (10/02) | “But Why Don’t You Just Google It?”, or What Scientists Really Do.

Tuesday, September 27th, 2011

In this “Information Age”, we’ve gotten used to finding the answers to all our questions by searching the web. But those answers had to come from somewhere! Much of the information we count on ultimately comes from scientists. Astronomer Geneviève de Messières will talk about why you might want to become a scientist, and how to do it. As a very recent Ph.D. recipient, she will discuss the path to becoming a professional astronomer, and show how this can lead to a variety of exciting careers.
